Records of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets may be requested by using the Open FOIL NY online form. A request can also be mailed to Tara B. Wells, Records Access Officer, 10B Airline Drive, Albany, N.Y. 12235, or submitted via email at [email protected].
Records that are available for inspection and copying will be made available at the Department’s offices at 10B Airline Drive, Albany, N.Y. 12235 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all days the Department is regularly open for business. The Records Access Office can be reached at 518-457-1059.
When filing a Freedom of Information request with the Department of Agriculture and Markets please include a mailing address, for some records maintained by the Department may not be able to be transferred electronically.

The Committee on Open Government is responsible for overseeing and advising with regard to the Freedom of Information, Open Meetings and Personal Privacy Protection Laws (Public Officers Law, Articles 6, 7 and 6-A respectively).
Section 87(3)(c) of the Public Officers Law requires that each State agency post a reasonably detailed list by subject matter of all records in the possession of the agency, whether or not the records are subject to release under FOIL.
